A CHELSEA GOLD AND ENAMEL-MOUNTED BONBONNIERE modelled as a lady's head, her lace mob-cap enriched in blue and with a puce rose and three feathers at the front and a pink bow at the back, her face naturally tinted and with scattered black patches, the interior with scattered flower-sprays, the stamped gold mount with flowers and C-scrolls and the hinged enamel cover painted with a loose bouquet within a shaped gilt line cartouche reserved on a blue ground gilt with flowering foliage, the border inscribed in gilt JE SUIS L'AME DE LA SOCIETE on a white enamel band (the bonbonniere with haircrack to rim and restoration to pink bow, the cover with cracks and restorations), circa 1758
