The silk thread-wrapped stems of the vine twisted around a rustic metal frame, and hung with bunches of grapes carved from amethyst and green quartz, surrounded by leaves with serrated edges carved from pale and dark spinach-green jade, with a small celadon jade mountain and flowering plants at the base of the arbor, all contained within a tapering rectangular cloisonne jardiniere, the sides inlaid with fan-shaped, jade plaques bearing inscriptions and vignettes, reserved against the diaper ground, with small stylized lotus panels at the corners above the feet, some losses--20in. (50cm.) high
