A MASSIVE PAIR OF JADE, SEMI-PRECIOUS STONE AND WOOD GROTTO GROUPS
19TH CENTURY

Each comprised of a large, overhanging, pierced taihe rockwork carved from dark softwood and encrusted with hardstone foliage comprising tree peony, plum and cherry blossom, bamboo, lingzhi and other smaller flowers carved from agate, jade, lapis lazuli, amethyst, turquoise and other materials, some with gilt-metal mountings, with various figures, including Shoulao, Guanyin, a fisherman and a deer as well as a pagoda interspersed throughout--both about 29in.
