A GOOD DARK BROWN AND STRAW-GLAZED POTTERY FIGURE OF A CAMEL

Modeled standing foresquare on a rectangular base with neck arched and mouth open in a bray, the body covered in a deep brown glaze thinning to amber in areas, the heavy fur on the neck created by applied, overlapping tufts and covered in a cream glaze used to highlight the tufts of fur on the head and upper legs, as well as on the the tail and feet, the fur of the humps textured by deep scoring, some restoration--21 1/2 in. (54.6 cm.) high
