AN IMPERIAL FAMILLE VERTE CORAL-GROUND BOWL
YONGZHENG YUZHI MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE SQUARE AND OF THE PERIOD

The rounded sides raised on a small, shallow ring foot, decorated on the exterior with an abundance of exotic flowers and berries, including two large peony blossoms, all in shades of pale yellow, mauve, green and black enamels and iron-red reserved on a dark, rich coral ground, the interior glazed white, restored--4½in. (11.5cm.) diam.

Yuzhi bowls of this type are found with both ruby-red and coral-red grounds. A bowl of smaller size painted in the same palette from the Shanghai Museum is illustrated in Chugoku Toji Zenshu, vol. 21, pl. 76. Two more bowls of smaller size and yuzhi-marked from the National Palace Museum, Taiwan, are illustrated in the Catalogue, Fine Enamelled Porcelain of the Ch'ing Dynasty, Yung Cheng Period, Book II, pls. 34 and 35
