The overlay cut in high relief with a continuous scene of a figure crossing a bridge between two buildings near pine, another figure punting his craft on waves below willow, the foot deeply cut, small interior neck bubble

This bottle seems to relate to an earlier group of 'seal-school' bottles now dated to the first half of the 19th century. An article by Clare Lawrence, based on a lecture given at the Vancouver convention of the International Snuff Bottle Society, and to be published in the International Snuff Bottle Society Journal, Summer, 1993, discusses this topic
