Lot Essay

This service was intended to be given by Louis XV to his grand daughter Louise of Parma, Princess of the Asturies in 1774. Due to Louis XV's death in this year it was subsequently given by Louis XVI and delivered in 1775. However, over the next fifteen years there were several more deliveries. The present example comes from the 1789 order delivered on 27 August to M.Godon horloger du roi de espagne, this order included 48 gobelet litron et soucoupe of the second size at 72 livres each and these pieces were fired between 25 May and 13 July
