AN OLD BABYLONIAN HEMATITE CYLINDER SEAL
CIRCA 1900-1800 B.C.
Engraved with a worshiper and suppliant goddess with raised hands standing before an enthroned figure holding a cup, a turtle and revered dwarf between the standing figures, a star disc and crescent in the sky, and a two column inscription which reads: "x, slave of (deity) x", a turtle, a reverse dwarf, the forepart of a lion, and a gazelle (which obscures the inscription) are secondary additions, 22 x 12.5 mm
