A CYPRIOT HEMATITE CYLINDER SEAL
CIRCA 1400-1200 B.C.

Engraved with two figures subjugating a lion, the figures wearing open skirts with a pointed end and flat caps, the one on the left with a streamer on the cap, and armed with a spear, the lion rendered with its face frontal, a Cypro-Minoan sign in the field, six dotted circular drillings in the sky, with a rampant lion and two leaping hares as the terminal, line border, 22 x 9 mm
