FOUR ACHAEMENIAN CYLINDER SEALS
CIRCA 521-400 B.C.
One of veined agate engraved with a royal figure armed with a dagger holding a lion by a hind leg, a winged bird in the sky, lower section missing, 27 x 10 mm, one of banded agate engraved with a figure grasping a young bull by a hind leg, 27 x 6 mm, one of dark gray agate engraved with rampant winged ibexes on either side of a date palm, a leaping stag, a bird, a stylized ankh, and a forked stand in the field, a winged sun disk in the sky, 22 x 11.5 mm, and one of black chert engraved with a rampant antelope and horse on either side of a tree, a rampant lion behind the horse, 16 x 9 mm (4)
