FOUR LEVANTINE CYLINDER SEALS
CIRCA 1350-1100 B.C.

One of black serpentine engraved with a warrior holding a mace greeting a figure holding a bow, two quadrupeds and linear form in the field and sky, line border, 25 x 10 mm, one of bronze or copper engraved with a deity with one arm raised holding a griffin on a leash, two stars and a Hittite inscription (upside down) which reads: "Takanani(?)," line border, 27 x 7 mm, one of brown serpentine engraved with a standing nude bearded hero holding an antelope by the hind legs, to the left, a small figure standing on a bull which he holds by a leash, a snake and two birds in the field, 17 x 10 mm, and one of black serpentine engraved with an archer kneeling on one knee aiming at an equid and a stag, a star in the field, a bird and wedge above, snakes as the terminal, 16 x 8 mm (4)
