A passport or safe conduct, granted to Lady Jane Wyche, wife of Sir Peter Wyche (d. 1643), who had been appointed English ambassador to Constantinople in 1627: "...Dame Jane Wyche, wife of Sir Peter Wyche, our Ambassador resident at Constantinople, being upon inst. occasion detained from taking her passage with her husband, doth now intend (God willing) to undertake the voyage by sea unto him. Wee holding it moot, that the fair dame Jane Wyche should be accomodated...for the most safe Arrivall [home?], have bon plaisir to grannt her...safe conduct, thereby requiring and commaunding to all...as occasion shall require, to give unto the fair dame...together with five servants and others as belong unto her, sure assistance...".
