The iron with brass inlay tsuba comprising: a round plate decorated on face and reverse with ships in high waves, (Shoami, circa 1700)--8.6cm. h., 5.5mm. th.; an oval plate with flush, long-leaf vines on face and reverse (minor inlay loss), (circa 1600)--8.2cm., h. 8cm. w., 3.5mm. th.; a round plate with two pierced plum blossoms, the surface with waste inlay (hokori yoshoro) losses, (circa 1600)--7.9cm. h., 3.5mm. th.; a thick oval plate carved with mallet and rain coat, brass details (losses), (circa 1750)--8cm. h., 5.5mm. th.; a round plate with butterfly and grass design, (damage to brass rim cover, rust on surface)--8.2cm. h., 5mm. th.; a round plate pierced with scroll and leaf pattern (rust and losses), (circa 1750)--7.8cm. h., 5.5mm. th.; a round Tempo plate with stars and snow, (circa 1650)--7.8cm. h., 3.5mm. th.; a round plate with cherry flowers on carved rafts, (rust and pitting), (Heianjo style, circa 1650)-- 7.5cm. h., 5mm. th.; an eight-lobed plate with grape vine and fence (losses), (circa 1750)--7.2cm. h., 5mm. th.; an eight-lobed plate decorated with four pierced, open fans and four carved and inlaid crests (two missing), (Shoami, circa 1675)--6.7cm. h., 5mm. th.
