TWO CLOISONNE AND THREE KINKO TSUBA
EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1700-1850)

The tsuba comprising: a brass plate formed as a snake, the face gilt and the reverse silvered, (circa 1850), signed Tomotoshi tsukuru--7.7cm. h., 6mm. th.; a round plate, the rim decorated in cloisonne, with a blue ground and multi-colored flowers, the center composed of two silver plates over a copper core, (circa 1750)--6.3cm. h., 5mm. th. at center, 9.5mm. th. at rim; an oval plate with a gilded copper core and cloisonne web with pale blue ground and multi-colored flowers, the reverse with purple clouds, (circa 1750)--5.7cm. h., 5mm. th.; an oval brass plate with raised rim, the black lacquer web with silver clouds, the rim set with forty-three faceted green glass, faceted stones in a gilded setting, (chips to some stones), (circa 1800)--7.3cm. h. 5.5mm. th. at center, 7.5mm. th. at rim; an oval copper plated carved with a pine tree on a stone surface, heavily plated in gold (5)
