EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1700-1850)
The iron tsuba comprising: a large mokko plate carved with a helmet, face mask, riding crop and bow, all with gold accents, (circa 1750)--10.7cm. h., 10.1cm. w., 4.75mm. th.; an oval plate deeply carved as a worn, wood plank and inlaid with gold insects and gold dots, (circa 1700)--8.2cm. h., 4.5mm. th.; a round plate pierced and carved in high relief with a shishi and a waterfall, with gold dot accents, (rust), (circa 1800)--7.8cm. h., 5.5mm. th.; an oval plate carved with spring flowers, accented with gold dots, the rim with tiny silver and gold nunome flowers, (circa 1850)--8.2cm. h., 4mm. th.; an oval plate decorated in high relief with silver peony, gold leaves, and carved rocks, (slight rust), (circa 1850)--7.4cm. h., 5.5mm. th.; a rounded, octagonal plate inlaid with flowers and vines, (rusted), (circa 1850)--8.3cm. h., 4.5mm. th.; an oval plate inlaid with flowers, (rusted), (circa 1850)--7.3cm. h., 4mm. th.; a mokko plate inlaid with gold and silver nunome wire dragon, (rusted), (circa 1775)--7.9cm. h., 4.5mm. th.; two plates, (with rust and other damage) (10)
