TWO SHAKUDO NANAKO TSUBA
LATE EDO PERIOD (EARLY 19TH CENTURY), ONE SIGNED NAOMASA SAKU
The tsuba comprising: a mokko plate decorated on the thickened rim with two encircling gilt dragons, the center decorated in gilt, shakudo and copper with a floral festival cart--7.6cm. h., 6.9cm. w., 5mm. th.; and another mokko plate with a kozuka-hitsu, the small guard applied in shakudo, silver and gold with a chrysanthemum cluster below a dragonfly in flight, the reverse with rocks and ground plants, in wood box, signed Naomasa saku--6cm. h., 5.3cm. w., 3mm. th.
