Lot Essay

Goto Eijo (Mitsumune 1577-1617) was the sixth Shirobei mainline master of the Goto family. Goto Renjo was the tenth Shirobei mainline master. A comparable kozuka by Goto Eijo was sold in these rooms on March 31, 1992 in the Collection of Walter A. Compton, Part I, lot 138.
