A CLOISONNE ENAMEL VASE
MEIJI PERIOD (LATE 19TH CENTURY), SIGNED WITH INLAID MARK AMIKAWA SOSUKE
Of attenuated ovoid form with slightly splayed foot and long, slender neck slightly flared at the rim, worked in wireless enamel and wire-outlined enamel with a scene of a white egret balanced on one leg on the branch of a willow which extends to the opposite side of the vase, the ground pale grey with a brownish tinge and the mounts finished in shakudo- 7 1/2 in. (18.9 cm.) high, several minute nicks and body scratches, several areas of small crazing in willow branches
