Oval, each side with a dotted engine-turned panel within chased and engraved borders of stylised foliage, berries and entre-lac, the sides with festooned pillars, on stippled grounds, marked inside the cover, base and side and with the décharge mark on the flange - 3 5/8in. (9.3cm.) long

Etienne-Michel Hallet entered his mark in 1762 when he is listed at Gobelins. He succeeded his father who was a jeweller to the King at Gobelins. Between 1781 and his death in 1791 his address is listed at Quai Pelletier.
