Aline Meyer Liebman was a pioneer collector of American and European paintings and photographs in the twenties, thirties, and forties, as well as a painter in her own right. She was a close friend of Alfred Stieglitz and through him knew Hartley, Marin, Stella, O'Keeffe and many of the other artists whose works she collected. Liebman had her first one-person exhibition at the Walker Galleries in May of 1936, and exhibited frequently over the next decade in New York and at the San Francisco Museum of Art and the Portland Museum. The following paintings are part of a group of works from her collection that are being offered for sale by her children.
