Professor Paul Taylor's response to Lange's first one-person show of documentary photography at the Brockhurst Gallery, led to their joint collaboration to photograph migratory workers for the California State Emergency Relief Administration and the U.S. Resettlement Administration (later named the Farm Security Administration).
