Of oval form, the glazed dial with Roman numerals enclosing a putti, with 18th century verge movement signed Romilly, Paris, the interior enamelled with a female classical warrior, the sides enamelled with gold flowers on a black ground and applied with cherub heads, the back enamelled with a scene of a satyr advancing upon a sleeping naked maiden, the whole surmounted by the figure of a dove, mounted on a later gilt metal camel form base, 6 3/4in.(17.2cm.) high
