Of tapering cylindrical form, with wood scroll handle and panelled spout, the flat removable cover with wood baluster finial, engraved on side and cover with a monogram MH and Earl's coronet, marked under base and on cover--4 3/4in.(12.1cm.) high

The monogram and coronet are possibly those of Mary, daughter of Roland Holt, who married in 1750, Thomas, 7th Earl of Haddington.
