MAKER'S MARK OF TIFFANY & CO., NEW YORK, CIRCA 1885

Of tapering cylindrical form with flaring wavy lap-over rim, on three fruit-form feet, the body spot-hammered and applied with parcel-gilt leaves, trailing stems and flowerheads, with tubular hammered handles, the interior gilt and applied with the figure of an escaping frog, the side engraved with an elaborate script monogram, JED, marked under base, 6419/3343--10in. high

A New York Yacht Club trophy of identical form but different decoration was presented in 1882 (illustrated in Charles H. Carpenter, Jr., Tiffany Silver, 1978, fig. 239, p. 173).
