From the series Les Muses designed by Mader Père circa 1825, depicting portraits of Terpsicore and Melpomene within a laurel wreath surmounted by a winged torchère en flambeau above a lyre and cornucopiae and ending in a ribbon-tied floral wreath in gold against a taupe ground (edges frayed)-approximately 7ft. 8in. x 2ft. 1 1/2in. (2m. 34cm. x 65cm.), together with another similar en grisaille and depicting Erato (edges frayed)-approximately 6ft. 4in. x 2ft. 1 1/2in. (1m. 93cm. x 65cm.) (3)
