In the 1940s, Silberstein was on assignment to photograph major Mexican artists of that time. His remarks concerning his session with Frida were that she was a fascinating subject and I did a number of head and shoulder portraits of her, careful to show her long, tapered fingers. Her jewelry was exotic and uniquely Mexican. Shortly after his sessions with her, Frida died at the age of 47.
