For another impression of this print see Narazaki, Muneshige, ed., Ukiyo-e Masterpieces in European Collections, Vol. 6, Musee Guimet I (Tokyo: Kodansha, 1987), pl. 127 where the catalogue entry stages that the print is believed to date from 1785-6, when Shunko began to design wrestler prints, but that Uzagafuchi was no longer komusubi at that time. The inscription may refer to his rank in another, minor, tournament.
