A very similar lantern is now in the palace of Fontainebleau and was described by the Garde-Meuble in 1797 as "une lanterne petite en bronze doré or moulu laditte á moulure et double rang de perle avec guirlande idem chapeaux ornée de souette.." the piece is illustrated in J-P Samoyault, Pendules et bronzes d'ameublement entrés sous le Premier Empire, Paris, 1989, p.116, no.79
