ATTRIBUTED TO CHRISTIAN HEINRICH INGERMANN, DRESDEN, 1750

The shaped circular domed base elaborately cast and chased with twisting scrolls and rocaille, rising to knopped baluster stems and acnthus leaf scroll branches supporting everted acanthus leaf drip-pans and vase-shaped sockets, engraved under the bases with the Royal cypher and inventory number, apparently unmarked--18in.(45.5cm.) high

Lot Essay

The cypher is that of Augustus III (1696-1763), Elector of Saxony who also as Augustus II, reigned as King of Poland who succeeded his father, Augustus the Strong, in 1733.
