MAKER'S MARK OF GEORGE METHUEN, LONDON, 1745
Oblong, with boldly undulating sides and molded borders, the sides engraved with a coat-of-arms and, on the other side, with a crest all within foliate scroll and rocaille cartouches, the hinged covers engraved circa 1820 with a crest within the Order of the Bath, the tea caddies marked under bases and on covers, the sugar box with maker's mark only struck four times--height of sugar box 4½in.(11.5cm.)
in fitted leather case with silvered brass furniture, the hasp engraved with the same crest as on the covers
