WICLIF, John (d.1384). Wyckliffes wycket: whych he made in Kyng Rychards days the second in the yere of our lorde God mcccxlv Imprinted at Norenburch [i.e. London: John Day?], 1546.
Small 8° (126 x 87mm). Collation: A-B8 C4. (Lacking final blank; upper corner torn from last leaf affecting one word.) 19th-century blue calf, edges gilt. Provenance: Henry Francis Lyte (armorial bookplate); John, 4th Marquess of Bute bookplate.
FIRST EDITION, second issue. The only one of Wiclif's writings to be published during the 16th century. This also contains 'The Testament of Master Wylliam Tracie' expounded by William Tyndale on 17 pages. Tracy's will was burned as heretical by convocation in 1532 and was taken up by the reformers as important doctrine. STC 25590.5 (records 6 copies, including the present, of this issue).
