14 parts in one volume, 4° in 2s (258 x 200mm). Printed in Chinese characters, all but Genesis within double-rule border, headline with book and chapter in English. (Without titles or preliminaries, some leaves in fifth part misbound, a few small tears, one affecting text in AA1 in sixth part.) Original boards (rather soiled, head of spine torn).
A variant issue in different size to other Chinese biblical texts recorded in Darlow & Moule. This copy has the following parts: Genesis (no signatures, 71 numbered pages), Exodus - Deutoronomy (A-3D2), Joshua - Esther (A-5G2), Job - Psalms (A-2E2 [2F1]), Proverbs - Isaiah (A-2D2), Jeremiah - Ezekial (A-2M2 2N1), Daniel - Malachi (A-U2, and 3 leaves unsigned), Matthew (A-L2), Mark (A-H2), Luke (A-L2), John (A-J2), Acts (A-K2), Romans - 2 Corinthians ([A] B-N2), Galations - Revelations (A-B2 A2, B1, A1, B-Z2 [2A1]). The pagination is continuous in each part, with breaks for the smaller books in the last part. Most books start and finish on new leaves, with the exception of 2 Samuel - 1 Kings, and 2 Kings - 1 Chronicles, which does not conform to the divisions in other Chinese editions listed by Darlow & Moule.
