A PAINTED BLANKET CHEST
DAUPHIN COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, DATED 1806

The rectangular hinged top with cleated ends painted with two oval panels opening to a compartment with lidded till fitted with a secret drawer the dovetailed case with mustard colored grained facade and three blue and red and yellow astragal painted panels, the central panel with tulips and geometric border, inscribed, "EFA/K15/1806," flanked by floral and geometric painted panels centering compass stars each side grained and embellished with central painted pinwheel, above red painted molding and green base on bracket feet--23in. high, 52¼in. wide, 22in. deep
