(Lacking a preliminary leaf and the final index leaf, including the colophon, three final leaves somewhat dampstained with repair to upper margin of F7.) 18th-century sheep-backed marbled boards gilt.

"This work should go with the General History [Historia general de los hechos de los Castellanos en las Islas i Tierra firme del Mar Oceano, 9 parts, 1601-1615], and it is usually bound at the end of the second volume after the fourth Decade. In the composition of this work the author had access to the most secret of the archives of Spain. It embraces the history from the discovery of America to 1555" (Sabin). Cf.
