The painting is copied from a screen by the famous Yang Ki-hun (Sukyean, 1843-1898). Yang Ki-hun was a scholar-official who came from northern Korea and lived in Pyongyang. His paintings of wild geese inspired many Korean artists

The inscriptions on the individual panels describe movements and activities of geese.
