With circular enamel dial signed Ridel à Paris with arabic chapters within a beaded case surmounted by a putto bearing a torchère en flambeau amidst billowing clouds above classically draped vestal virgins bearing baskets issuing scrolling fruiting foliage and serpents centering a panelled column with a ribbon-tied trophy emblematic of Science flanked by brûle perfums, on rounded rectangular beaded fluted base centering a cockerel, on toupie feet-21 1/4in. (54cm.) high, 14 3/4in. (37.5cm.) wide, 5in. (13cm.) deep
