A closely related pair of fauteuils was in the salon of Forsyth Wickes' house at Starboard House, Newport, Rhode Island (see P. Rathbone, The Forsyth Wickes Collection, 1968, p.8). Another virtually identical fauteuil (lacking stretchers) was sold, Parke-Bernet Galleries, New York, 16-17 March 1956, lot 329.
