A LOUIS XIV ORMOLU-MOUNTED BRASS-INLAID EBONY, TORTOISESHELL AND HORN 'BOULLE' MARQUETRY BUREAU PLAT

With canted rectangular inset leather top, the hinged flaps opening to a triple-divided open compartment within ormolu banding above a shaped frieze centrally fitted with a mask within a beaded shell issuing scrolling foliage, on hipped cabriole legs headed by satyr's masks within trailing foliage banded with stiff acanthus leaves and ending in tapering scroll sabots, inlaid throughout in contre partie with scrolling foliage (alterations)-26½in. (67.2cm.) high, 31¾in. (81.2cm.) wide, 15¼in. (38.2cm.) deep
