Tapering cylindrical with molded rims, engraved with a continuous frieze of foliate scrolls and people amid exotic vegetation including harvesting coconuts, with various proverbs in scrolling cartouches, enclosing a band with the Nativity, a nobleman on a horse holding a parasol, and a scene of the harbor of Savador, the base engraved with a cartouche fkanked by flags and surmounted by a crown, inscribed F OI FEITO ESTE COPO EM 1776 AO SENHOR CAPITAM JOSEPH GUEDES POR 12 MIL PREIS, apparently unmarked--5 5/8in.(14.3cm.) high
