A 'PEZZATO' GLASS VASE
DESIGNED BY FULVIO BIANCONI FOR VENINI, CIRCA 1950
Of irregular lozenge shape and composed of a patchwork design made up of free-form rectangles in deep aubergine, emerald green and amber, acid-stamped Venini Murano ITALY--11¼in. (28,5cm.) high
The colorful 'Pezzati' (patchwork) series was first exhibited at the 1951 XIV Trienial of Milan. The series was produced in a variety of shapes and color combinations and drew much acclaim due to the designs sophisticated modernism.
