A DERBY PINK-GROUND TEABOWL AND SAUCER
CIRCA 1797, PUCE CROWN, CROSSED BATONS AND D MARK AND PATTERN NO. 464 TO BOTH

Painted with a maritime battle within gilt scallop borders and with a band of gilt zig-zags and dots reserved against the pink ground (the saucer with stacking wear, minimal wear to gilding); together with two Derby pink-ground soup plates and a dinner plate, blue crowned D marks, painted with a flower spray, the rim with a berried garland suspended in scallops from the pink ground enriched with darker pink scrolls, within gilt-dentil edge (one soup plate cracked, the other with burning stains from the kiln to the underside, the plate stained, wear to gilding)--10in. (25.4cm.) diam.; and a similar Chelsea-Derby purple-ground dessert plate, gilt D and anchor mark, the center with an urn painted en grisaille, entwined by rose garlands and surrounded by scattered flowers in colour (surface wear and wear to gilt dentil edge)--8 7/8in.
