A DERBY TOPOGRAPHICAL MUG
CIRCA 1790, BLUE CROWN, CROSSED BATONS AND D MARK, IN THE MANNER OF ZACHARIAH BOREMAN

Painted in muted tones with 'Rock Call, the Church Dovedale, Derbyshire' named on the underside, within 'pearl' surround reserved by a gilt band, the rim and scroll handle gilt with pendant leaves (minimal scratching to the painted surface, faint staining to the white ground)--4¼in. (10.8cm.) high; together with three Derby topographical coffee-cans of similar date, iron-red crown, crossed batons and D marks, painted landcsapes 'Near Duffield, Derbyshire', 'In Wales' and 'In Italy', named on the underside, each rim with a band of gilt trailing vine with iron-red berries (gilding badly worn) (4)
