One of the Chelsea factory's most popular models, the cabbage leaf dish served also as the stand for both partridge and melon tureens. See John C. Austin, Chelsea Porcelain at Williamsburg, Williamsburg, 1977, no. 87 for a similar dish used as the stand for a partridge tureen; also F. Severnne Mackenna, Chelsea Porcelain, The Red Anchor Wares, Leigh-on-Sea, pl. 32, fig. 65 and William King, Chelsea Porcelain, New York, 1922, pl. 19, fig. 2 for examples used under melon tureens.
