With berried finial, domed cover and open C-scroll handles, the neck with chestnut coloured gadroons edged with gilt and lavender beneath a pale-green band, the vase painted in colours with a scene of Venus and Aeneas and Philemon and Baucis, named on the base, within oval reserves flanked by colourful scrolling foliage above a band of leaf-tips and square base (finial restuck, slight wear to gilding on one side) --14¾in. (36.5cm.) high
