(10 1/8 x 8 1/8in.), contemporary calf, spines with red and green morocco labels, spines, board edges and corners restored, plate 112 in facsimile, vertical creases to front and end leaves of each volume, the creases restored causing slight loss of legibility to errata in vol. I and to half-title of vol. III, Hh1 and Hh2 in vol. I torn at gutter, small tear to the "Grammatical Table", occasional paper flaws and a few old stains.

FIRST EDITION, half-titles, 159 numbered engraved plates (of 160, lacks no. 112, present in facsimile), no. 146 ("Trade Winds") folding, "Music" plates 117-133 printed on both sides of 9 leaves; 3 folding "Chemistry" tables and 1 folding "Grammatical" table in vol. II.
