(12 1/4 x 7 7/8in.), contemporary vellum over pasteboard, title lettered in ink on spine, vellum soiled, foot of spine worn, small green stain on lower cover, some slight dampstaining to upper and lower margins, some leaves browned, each plate with an ink monogram stamp, leaf L1113 patched at lower outer corner with partial loss of one word on verso.
First Edition in German, engraved title, letterpress title in black and red, folding engraved general map of America signed "Gerardum a Schagen", 47 double-page engraved plates (11 folding) including 15 maps (the remaining 32 comprising town views), 6 portraits and 70 text engravings (occasionally reversing the first edition images).
