A WELL-CAST GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF A LUOHAN
YUAN/MING DYNASTY

The sensitive, finely detailed figure shown seated atop a cloth-draped rock-work bench rising from an integral base with indented corners in an attitude of relaxation or contemplation, with his head resting atop his right hand while stroking the cat beside him with his left hand, wearing loosely draped robes with petal-incised borders, underside incised with the character jiu (nine), regilded--5 3/4in. (14.5cm.) high
