A SMALL YELLOWISH-GREEN AND BROWN JADE MYTHICAL BEAST
SONG/MING DYNASTY

The dog-like animal with curved scrolls carved on each haunch shown in a recumbent position with head resting between his front legs which are bent back beneath the body, his slightly bulbous eyes with incised pupils and his backbone a series of soft knobs, the stone softly polished and of yellow-green color shading to a soft brown--2¾in. (7cm.) long
