A FINE AND UNUSUAL FAMILE ROSE TABLE SCREEN AND STAND
QIANLONG GILT SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD
The rectangular plaque finely painted on one side with a pair of quail in the grass below various types of chrysanthemums, and on the reverse with a magpie in flight above three other magpies perched on a gnarled branch of blossoming prunus sprouting lingzhi fungus at the base, all within a border of geometric dragon scroll reserved in gilding on an iron-red ground, the lower sides notched to fit into the matching stand with similar archaistic decoration and pierced chilong brackets, the nianhao written in a line on the crossbar of the stand--11 1/16in. (28.lcm.) high
