A GILT-DECORATED FLAMBÉ-GLAZED MULTI-NECKED VASE
QIANLONG SEAL MARK IN GILDING AND POSSIBLY OF THE PERIOD

Modeled as six vases of amphora form surrounding a taller vase, each decorated in gilding on the sides with a bat flanked by entwined dragons confronted on a pearl, between a lappet border below and a narrow ruyi border above, with a band of upright leaf tips at the base of the slender neck and another ruyi border below the mouth rim, all reserved on a rich wine-red ground streaked in a vivid purplish-blue and thinning to a milky blue at the mouth rim, the interior of each neck glazed a jun-like blue gray, the nianhao painted on the base of the central 'vase', footrims ground, the gilding possibly later--8¾in. (22.2cm.) high

A number of multi-necked vases exist bearing Qianlong marks but all appear to have six necks in total rather than the seven of this example
